The upcoming Jeep® Wrangler-based pickup truck has generated quite the buzz among off-road enthusiasts and truck lovers alike. What the model has been lacking, however, is a suitable name, but now it looks like it may have one. The upcoming 2019 Jeep® Scrambler will arrive with a new powertrain and plenty of off-road capability.
Insider intelligence indicates that the off-road SUV brand will be reviving the Scrambler nameplate for the upcoming truck, which was the name of the popular two-door truck that’s become a niche among enthusiasts.

During its initial run from 1981 to 1986, the Jeep® CJ-based truck saw a production run of just 28,000 units. Notably, President Ronald Regan owned one, a fact that gives the pickup some life to it. As for more recent rumors, the off-road SUV brand renewed the Scrambler trademark back in 2015.
The 2019 Jeep® Scrambler will likely feature an available 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine similar to the one available in the Ram 1500 pickup. Drivers will have their choice between a three-piece hardtop, available in black or body color, and a factory-provided soft top.
